Woodlands High School

School Council

We have a strong School Council through which pupils have the opportunity to express their very important views on all aspects of school life.

Representatives from each key stage are chosen by vote and attend lunchtime meetings every two weeks. Minutes are kept and staff and governors are kept informed about discussions and decisions made in the meetings.

The school council have been charged with a variety of tasks including some of the steering of the schools Eco work and been key workers in the acquisition of our green flag status and have sought the views of their peers in some of the development proposals for our school grounds.

Pupils also have the opportunity to share their views in Home Room sessions which are led by form tutors. These views are also shared amongst colleagues and relayed to senior leaders and governors.

At any time, pupils can request to speak with staff members about issues which concern them or ideas they wish to share.

Due to current restrictions, we have 11 School Council members across they key stages who represent each of the four 'bubbles' at Woodlands High School. Dylan Royle and Ashley Kavanagh are the elected leaders for this academic year.

We have asked students for their feedback on distance and blended learning. Responses will be collated and published here at the end of next week.
