How We Celebrate Diversity

What is Schools of Sanctuary? Woodlands is in the process of working towards our Schools of Sanctuary Award. In order to become a School of Sanctuary, schools have to demonstrate an understanding of what it means for someone to be seeking sanctuary, and a commitment to creating a welcoming and caring environment for those people in need of help.

Sherman 5 Woodlands is about to become a partner group with Sherman 5. The link attached explains the work of Sherman 5 and some of the exciting opportunities for our pupils and families.

Woodlands Celebrate Holi 2022

Last week we had great fun celebrating the festival of Holi, a time when Hindus welcome the start of Spring and celebrate the triumph of good over evil. We had lots of engaging activities, whilst learning about the traditions of this colourful and vibrant festival, such as sampling traditional Indian food and drink, making beautiful tie dye tote bags, exploring traditional Indian clothing and creating fabulous Holi canvases. We also had dance workshops, where all the school had the opportunity to explore traditional Indian dance.
